** Hello, Newswire ISTVS,

Join an amazing legacy of international conferences since our first meeting in 1962 in Turin, Italy — ISTVS is a small, connected group of professionals from industry, universities, and research institutions who have been meeting over five decades to share research findings.

Our 18th International Conference is being hosted at Seoul National University in Korea under the chair of ISTVS member Dr Kyeong Uk Kim. Please read Dr Kim’s welcoming letter below!

Our Technical Committee is listed below, along with some details about our popular conference tours.

Program highlights

Day 1. The conference begins Sunday evening with our ever-popular Ice Breaker Party — you’ll have the opportunity to interact informally with colleagues from all over the world. Day 2-4. Enjoy presentations and plenary sessions, including our awards programs and meals over Monday-Wednesday. Day 5. The conference concludes with our valuable all-day technical tour: we are pleased to be welcomed for a plant tour by LS Mtron°, one of the largest tractor manufacturers in Korea, at their facility LS Tractor*, located about 250 km southwest of Seoul. Letter from the Chair:

The 18th International Conference of the ISTVS will provide you a place where you can exchange ideas and information on the current research and technology developments in the field of terramechanics and terrain-machine systems.

Seoul, the capital of Republic of Korea, is one of the largest cities in the world, risen from the ashes of the Korean war to become a modern metropolis with a population of 10.6 million, and a political, economic, and educational hub of the country with many elegant historical attractions.

Seoul National University, founded in 1946, is the most prestigious university in Korea, is comprised of 16 colleges and 8 professional graduate schools with 1,800 professors and 28,000 students. The conference venue is located at the outskirts of the campus, about 1.5 km away from its center.

It is a real pleasure to extend to all ISTVS members, students, and nonmember professionals a cordial invitation to visit Seoul, Korea, for the 18th International Conference.

—Dr. Kyeong Uk Kim Conference Chair and Professor, Department of Biosystems and Biomaterial Science and Engineering, Seoul National University
