About the Working Group
The Terrain Measurement and Mobility Metrics Working Group is a new initiative under ISTVS focused on advancing the science and practice of terrain characterization and mobility performance metrics. This group brings together experts and practitioners to exchange ideas, define standards, and promote best practices in the field.
What We Do
The group will explore key challenges and emerging trends in terrain measurement and mobility analysis, setting clear goals and defining the scope of its work within the ISTVS community.
Who Can Join
Membership criteria and the process for joining will be outlined soon. Participation may be open to ISTVS members or by invitation.
Member Roles
Members are expected to contribute actively through discussions, collaborative projects, and shared research. Details on expectations and communication norms will be shared.
Group Structure
Leadership will follow a chair/co-chair model with potential subcommittees or task forces. Leadership selection and governance details will be provided.
Meetings
The group will meet regularly (frequency and format to be confirmed) to review progress, share insights, and plan next steps.
Expected Outcomes
Deliverables may include white papers, technical reports, conference presentations, or recommendations for new standards and tools.
Sharing Our Work
Findings will be published through ISTVS channels such as the website, newsletters, journals, and relevant conferences.
